KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Christian Covile finished with 20 points and eight rebounds while Vince Schantz hauled down nine rebounds in the Siena Heights men's basketball team's 83-47 loss to Western Michigan on Thursday. The contest was an exhibition game for SHU and did not count against the team's overall record.

The Saints hung around early with the Broncos before the hosts exploded for a 30-6 run.

As a team, Western Michigan shot 45 percent from the field (27 of 60) while SHU was 25.4 percent (15 of 59). The Broncos also held a 48-31 rebounding advantage.

Shayne Whittington was WMU's leading scorer with 16 points. Hayden Hoerdemann and David Brown added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Saints will return to action on Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference home game against Madonna.
