Nick Turchiano, Kole Murlin, and Andrew Loria Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Siena Heights football players Nick Turchiano, Kole Murlin, and Andrew Loria, were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District NAIA - District 1 team on Thursday afternoon.

Turchiano helped anchor the Siena Heights offensive line during the four-game 2020-21 season and was a key component to the Saints' offensive success. He adds this award to his 2nd-Team All-MSFA Mideast award he accumulated earlier this year.

Murlin adds this award to a fantastic year. He led the Saint defense with 56 total tackles, 12 solo, four tackles for loss, and a sack. He tied a school record for tackles in a game with 19 against Lawrence Tech Despite only playing four games this season, Murlin led the NAIA with 14.0 tackles per game. He was named NAIA All-America Honorable Mention and Co-MSFA Mideast League Defensive Player of the Year this season. Earlier in May, the Celina, Ohio native, was given the Thomas Emmet Sr. Outstanding Scholar-Athlete Award that is given annually to a junior student-athlete at Siena Heights University. He is also a two-time MSFA Mideast First-Team Defense selection.

Loria was also a member of the 2nd-Team All-MSFA Mideast squad after he finished the year with 18 tackles, a team-high five tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks.
