Saints Looking For Second Consecutive Win When Madonna Comes to Town

THE GAME
The #22 Saints look to keep the momentum going with a second-straight win against first-year Madonna on Saturday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a noon kickoff inside O'Laughlin Stadium.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Saints (1-2 overall, 1-2 MSFA Mideast) rolled to their first victory with a convincing 44-7 win over Lawrence Tech Saturday. Kole Murlin tied a school record with 19 tackles to lead the defense, with Tyler Knecht completing 15 of 20 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns for SHU.
 
LEADING THE SAINTS IN 2020-21
Tyler Knecht leads the Saints under center with 34-50 for 370 yards passing (123.3/game). He has thrown three touchdowns in his two starts. Justin McCown was 12-22 for 126 yards and a touchdown in his one start this season. Jared Jordan leads the ground game with 40 carries for 184 yards. He also leads the Saints in receptions with 15 for a total of 86 yards. Eric Williams is the leading wideout with 12 catches for 164 yards and a touchdown.
 
Defensively, SHU is led by MSFA MEL defender of the week, Kole Murlin in tackles with 44. Gabe Callery and Trenton Morrow have 25 stops. Morrow also has an interception to his credit. As a unit, the Saints defense is 5th in the NAIA in scoring defense (11.3), 6th in rushing defense per game (73.0), and 10th in total defense (259.0). 
 
Eric Williams is the primary kick return specialist with a team-high 192 kick-return yards. Caleb Meister has punted 15 times for 533 yards (35.5 avg) this year. His season-long is 55 yards and he has pinned opponents inside their own 20-yard line four times this season. Anthony Secchi is 2-4 in field goal attempts. His longest thus far is a 25-yarder he made at Indiana Wesleyan.
 
LEADING MADONNA
Brady Gleason leads the Crusaders in the passing game with 4-9 through the air for 21 yards. Christian Gaiera had eight carries for 38 yards in the team's inaugural game against Taylor. Shannon Allen had two catches for four yards to lead the receivers. 
 
Carl Ware leads Madonna with 10 tackles and two tackles for loss. Kylar Bosak finished with eight tackles and a half tackle for loss while Dalen Cobb had five stops and one TFL. Jesse Morris also had five tackles.
 
D'Vonta Garrett has returned three kickoffs for a total of 57 yards to lead the return specialists. Sean Donaldson has eight punts for 239 yards with a season-long 48-yard punt.
