VanWasshenova, Wilding Named All-WHAC First Team; CVW Also WHAC Gold Glover

VanWasshenova, Wilding Named All-WHAC First Team; CVW Also WHAC Gold Glover

Siena Heights baseball players Cole VanWasshenova and Adam Wilding were named All-WHAC First Team, as announced by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference on Wednesday. VanWasshenova was also honored on the WHAC Gold Glove Team at third base.

Wilding's First Team honor marks the second time he was recognized on the top team in the WHAC. He was previously named First Team in 2021.

VanWasshenova is now a two-time WHAC Gold Glove player. He was chosen in 2022, as well.

In 2024, VanWasshenova led the team in several categories, including batting average (.3652), doubles (16), stolen bases (14), runs (47) and on-base percentage (.472). He also tied for was second in both hits (61) and slugging (.551) and tied for third in triples (3) and home runs (3).

Wilding finished second on the team by mere percentage points in the team batting avrage race with a .3649. He led the team in homers (6) and slugging (.657) while tying for the team lead in triples (4). Wilding was second in doubles (12) and on-base (.470) and third in hits (50).

Joe Kane was honored on the WHAC Champions of Character Team.

Academic All-WHAC student-athletes were Kane, VanWasshenova, Thomas Bakoway, Shilo Bernal Jr., Devin Eads, Blake Gant, Aidan Grinstead, Christian Jabiro, Kenny Layman, Matt Love, Cole Mason, John Millen, Chase Molnar, Aiden Nighswander, Brock Olmstead, Ty Schroeder, Nolan Smigiel, Garret Smith, Christian Smolen, Nick Tiller and Kaleb Woods.
