Saints Fall in Extra Innings at Spring Arbor in One Game

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- Due to severe weather in the early part of the afternoon across Michigan, the game was delayed and only one of the two games was played. The Saints fell to Spring Arbor 8-7 in 11 innings played. The Saints will be back in action on Saturday, April 20th vs Michigan-Dearborn. 

Spring Arbor 8, Siena Heights 7 

Leading the Saints at-bat was Nick Tiller. Tiller recorded three hits with five at-bats. Ben Weadock, Christian Jabiro, Shilo Bernal Jr, and Tim Polidor each forced one strikeout on the mound. 

Kenny Layman doubled to left field in the top of the first, which sent Adam Wilding home to put the Saints up 1-0. At the top of the third, the Saints were down 2-1 until Cole VanWasshenova doubled to Center Field, sending Adam Wilding home again to tie the game at two. Later in the at-bat, Brock Olmstead doubled to right field sending VanWasshenova home to regain the lead at 3-2. To cap off the top of the third the Saints scored again as Ty Schroeder scored. 

Spring Arbor then scored two more runs to tie the game at four. At the top of the fifth inning, Nick Tiller doubled to right field sending Ty Schroeder home. Then, Tiller scored on a wild pitch to put the Saints back up two at 6-4. In the top of the seventh, after Spring Arbor scored one run to pull to within one at 6-5, Nick Tiller hit a single RBI to right field to send Ty Schroeder home again. In the end, Spring Arbor rallied to score three more runs to win in extra innings 8-7.
