Baseball Drops Both Games to Indiana Tech

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team dropped two games to WHAC opponent Indiana Tech. In game one, the Saints dropped the first game 4-0 and lost the second game 4-3. The Saints (13-15, 7-5) will return to action on Sunday, April 7th vs Indiana Tech in double-header action. 

 

Game 1: Indiana Tech 4, Siena Heights 0 

Brock Olmstead led the Saints in batting going 2-for-2. Gino Hutchinson also recorded a hit for the Saints. 

On the mound, Brandon Biggerstaff forced seven strikeouts, while Ben Weadock played the rest of the game forcing two strikeouts. 

Indiana Tech scored two runs in the second, and one run in the fifth and sixth innings. 

 

 

Game 2: Indiana Tech 4, Siena Heights 3 

In game 2, there was no scoring until the top of the seventh inning, when Indiana Tech scored three runs to go up 3-0. In the bottom of the seventh, the Saints tied it up when Kenny Layman hit a single RBI to send Matt Love home. To tie the game at three, Thomas Bakoway hit a double, sending both Kenny Layman and Cole VanWasshenova home to tie the game at three. The last run of the game happened when Indiana Tech scored in the top of the eighth inning to seal the deal for Indiana Tech in game two. 

On the mound in game two for the Saints, Luc Olson played six innings forcing two strikeouts. Also on the mound for the Saints, was Christian Jabiro forcing one strikeout in game 2 for the Saints.
