Campbellsville, KY. -- The Siena Heights baseball team started 1-1 on the season today as they split a double header vs. (14) Campbellsville.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1:
The Saints were first to strike in the game as in the 2nd inning they strung together a pair of runs. Logan Nolff and Nic Olson lead off the inning by reaching base setting SHU up for some small ball. A sacrifice bunt by Weston Cook would help the Saints scoring opportunity. After a wild pitch by the Tigers pitcher that scored Nolff, Colin Bammer hit a sacrifice fly to score Olson. The game was 2-0 heading to the bottom of the 2nd.
The Tigers would strike right back as they hit a solo home run to narrow the deficit to 2-1. Siena came right back in the 3rd and added a run. Brendan Green scored off a single by Olson. The game would then be 3-1.
Reid Olmstead started on the mound for the Saints and had three strikeouts through his six innings of work and only giving up one run.
In the bottom of the 7th, Campbellsville hit another solo home run to make the game 3-2. Saints would strike right back in the 8th however. Nolff scored on a fielder's choice to put the Saints up 4-2.
After the Tigers scored in the bottom of the 8th to make it a 4-3 game, Trevor Willis came into the game in the 9th inning to earn a save and give the SHU the win.

Game 2:
Game two between the Tigers and the Saints started off in favor for the Tigers. They scored first in the first inning. Mike Jones started for SHU and settled down after the first inning to pitch 3 scoreless innings.
Siena would get on the board in the 4th inning on a RBI single from Connor McCoy. With the game 1-1, Siena scored the following inning as Snyder Torres was plated by a Tigers throwing error. Torres would scored again in the 7th by a RBI single from Weston Cook.
SHU would look to close out the game in the 7th but a HBP and a pair of base hits scored 2 runs and the Tigers would walked off and take game 2 from the Saints.
