LEWISTON, Idaho -- A total of six Siena Heights baseball players were honored as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2013 season.
The group includes senior Corey Caldwell (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln), juniors Drew Byers (Osseo, Mich./Hillsdale), Mike Lollo (Allen Park, Mich./Cabrini), Alec Duncan (La Salle, Mich./Monroe Saint Mary Catholic) and Travis Mielcarek(Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic), and sophomore Kyle Johnson (Adrian, Mich./Adrian).
Caldwell graduated with a degree in Sport Management. Lollo is also a Sport Management major, Byers and Mielcarek are Accounting majors, Duncan majors in Nursing, and Johnson doubles up majors with Education and Special Education.
A total of 266 NAIA baseball student-athletes were honored.
Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor.
