ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team lost a 17-1 contest to Adrian in non-conference play on Saturday.
Leading 2-1, the Bulldogs erupted for a nine-run fifth inning and held command the rest of the way.
Drew Milligan (Hudson, Mich./Hudson) batted 2-for-4 while Dennis Sharp (Monroe, Mich./Monroe) doubled and drove in a run for the Saints (12-25).
SHU took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Sharp reached on a fielder's choice.
Siena Heights starting pitcher Stephen Fisher (Bradenton, Fla./Braden River) worked four innings and struck out three batters while suffering the loss. Reliever Zach Smith (North Olmsted, Ohio/North Olmsted) tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
The Saints will finish their regular season on Saturday and Sunday with a pair of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference doubleheaders at Aquinas.
