The Saints opened the contest with a run in the first inning, but then surrendered seven runs -- six unearned -- during the first three innings.

Milligan singled and eventually scored on a Henderson single, giving the Saints their only lead.

During the third, Cornerstone added two more on a Davis Martin single and wild pitch.

Siena Heights tacked on its second run during the eighth on a single by Corey Caldwell (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln), who drove in Mike Lollo (Allen Park, Mich./Cabrini).

Matt King (Rockville, Ind./Rockville) was the losing pitcher. He lasted 2 1/3 innings and was credited with the one earned run.

In relief, Ben Finn (Dexter, Mich./Dexter) went 1 2/3 scoreless innings and recorded three strikeouts. Thomas McCarter (Lapeer, Mich./Lapeer East) and Tyler Butlin (Saint Clair, Mich./Saint Clair) tossed two shutout frames apiece.

For Cornerstone, Bohl and Covello had two hits each in support of winning pitcher Cullen Montgomery, who worked seven innings and struck out eight batters.

In game two, SHU took a 2-0 lead, but allowed four runs in the Cornerstone third. The Eagles held on the rest of the way.

Caldwell and Lollo (double) had the Saints' only four hits, coming through with two each.

Robbie Schwartz (Adrian, Mich./Adrian) scored on a passed ball in the second and Lollo came in on a wild pitch for the only SHU runs.

In the Cornerstone third, Covello had an RBI single, Tyler Krahn ripped a two-run double, and the Eagles got another run on an error.

Brent Vaccaro (Saline, Mich./Saline) was the losing pitcher, going 2 2/3 innings. Once again, the Siena Heights bullpen provided scoreless relief. Travis Mielcarek (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic) went 1 1/3 frames, Stephen Fisher (Bradenton, Fla./Braden River) went one scoreless inning, and Jake Kret (Wyandotte, Mich./Roosevelt) struck out two batters in an inning of work.
