Six SHU Baseball Players Honored as NAIA Scholar-Athletes

LEWISTON, Idaho -- A total of six Siena Heights baseball players were honored as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2013 season.

The group includes senior Corey Caldwell, juniors Drew Byers, Mike Lollo, Alec Duncan and Travis Mielcarek, and sophomore Kyle Johnson.

Caldwell graduated with a degree in Sport Management. Lollo is also a Sport Management major, Byers and Mielcarek are Accounting majors, Duncan majors in Nursing, and Johnson doubles up majors with Education and Special Education.

A total of 266 NAIA baseball student-athletes were honored.

Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor.
