The following was printed on Martha (Hans) Palmer's HOF plaque:

Former hurdle great Martha (Hans) Palmer is in a class by herself in the history of women’s athletics at Siena Heights.  Martha is the only female athlete in Saints’ history to win an NAIA National Championship.

As a senior in 1988, Palmer won the 60-yard hurdle title with a time of 7.96 at the NAIA Indoor National Championships at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO.

A four-time NAIA All-American hurdler for the Saints from 1986-88 who was named to four NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete teams.  Palmer holds every indoor and outdoor record in the hurdle events.

The 1988 Business Administration Student-of-the-Year at Siena Heights College.
