Six Women's Track and Field Athletes Earn All-American Honors in the Final Day of the NAIA Championship

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- In the last day of competition, the Siena Heights women's track and field finished with six All-American honors and another top ten finish, on Saturday.

The Saints took fourth in the 4x400m relay with their best time of the season, crossing the finish line in 3:53.66 to earn All-American status. The team consisted of Mariah Ridal, Ashley Russo, Brianna Pekel and Alexis Moore.

Taking third place and earning All-American honors in the high jump was Marissa Johnson. She cleared the bar at 1.77 meters (5 feet, 7 1/4 inches).

Asia Gardner took fifth place in the 200m run, earning All-American honors with a time of 25.15 seconds.

Earning All-American status in the 600m run was Ridal, crossing the finish line at 1:27.8 for sixth place.

In the 400m run, Moore earned All-American honors with a time of 58.23 that was good for eighth place.

Russo finished eighth in the 1000m run with a time of 3:04.30 and earned All-American honors.

In the triple jump, Mildrenae Young-Brooks took tenth place with a 11.31m (37-1 1/4) leap.

As a team, the Saints finished in ninth place with 30 points. Winning with 75 points was Indiana Tech.

Siena Height will return to action in April when the Saints begin the outdoor track and field season.
