Saints Slip Past Lawrence Tech at Home

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team earned a 1-0 win against WHAC opponent Lawrence Tech to update their conference record to 4-3. Macy Llewellyn led the Saints as she scored the team's lone goal of the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Saints scored the only goal of the game in the first 9 minutes of the game as Rebecca Almandoz make the punching save off the corner kick from Marissa Young and Macy Llewellyn headed the rebound in net. The Blue Devils had an opportunity to score the equalizer as Jenny Dear had the only shot on goal in the first half but Kara Bishop made the save sending the game into the half.

The score remained the same throughout the second half as no one was able to get on the board. SHU had two shots on goal from Marissa Young but Rebecca Almandoz came up with the saves. The Blue Devils had two shots on goal from Allexus Barnes and Jenny Dear but both came up short earning Siena the 1-0 win.

The game was physical as there were one red card and three yellow cards. The Saints outshot Lawrence Tech 12 to nine and had five corner kicks compared to the Blue Devils' one.

TOP SAINTS

Macy Llewellyn had the game-winning goal.

Marissa Young had the assist on the goal.

Kara Bishop (W, 5-4) made three saves in net for SHU.
