Five Scorers in Doubles as Women's Basketball Wins 17th Straight

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Olivia DeLong and Jakarri Alven scored 12 points apiece as five Siena Heights scorers in double-figures helped the Saints' women's basketball team to a 71-53 victory over WHAC opponent Lourdes on Wednesday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

DeLong also had eight rebounds and two blocks for the Saints (17-2, 12-1), who earned their 17th straight win. Jillian Gelso, Madison Vice and Kayla Hinton added 11 points apiece.

Hinton made eight assists and E'Anna Won totaled seven rebounds and four assists.

Siena Heights never trailed after starting the contest with a 12-point run. DeLong led the way in that early surge with four points.

SHU won each of the first three quarters before it was outscored by the visiting Wolves (6-12, 4-9) in the fourth. The Saints' largest lead was 60-31 early in the fourth quarter.

Siena Heights held a 38-32 edge in rebounds and shot 25 of 55 from the field (45.5 percent) while holding Lourdes to 19-for-49 (38.8).

The Saints will play next on Saturday when they host Madonna for a 5 p.m. tip-off at the SHU Fieldhouse.
