#22 Women's Basketball Falls to Concordia in WHAC Contest

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The #22 Siena Heights women's basketball team took on Concordia in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday. The Saints fell to the Cardinals, 64-78.

After the first quarter, the Saints (0-4, 0-2 WHAC) found themselves at a three point disadvantage. In the second period, both teams were held to 11 points and the Cardinals (4-1, 1-0 WHAC) went into halftime with a three point lead.

To begin the second half, CUAA went on a seven point run and did not look back. At the end of the third period, the Saints went on a 6-0 run to cut the Concordia lead to four, but SHU did not have enough to make the full comeback. 

Alyssa Larson led the Saints in scoring with a career high, 16 points. Larson also finished with a team high, two blocks. Ashley Perry added ten points for the Saints. On the glass, Sharmaine Wills was the team leader with nine boards, also leading Siena Heights with three assists and three steals. 

From the floor, SHU ended the ball game 20-62 for 32.3%. From behind the arc, Siena Heights shot 4-23 for 17.4% and from the free throw line, the Saints shot 20-36 for 55.6%. Concordia finished 24-63 for 38.1% from the field, 7-19 for 36.8% from three and 23-36 for 63.9% from the charity stripe. 

Next up, the Saints will travel to take on #14 Indiana Tech in a WHAC contest on Saturday, Nov. 18. Tip off is set for 1 p.m.
