THE BASICS

Final Score: UM-Dearborn 2, Siena Heights 0 (13 Innings)

Location: Adrian, Michigan (Christensen Memorial Field)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The day kicked off at the top of the 10th-inning with a three up, three down showing for the Saint defense. Hill lead off in the bottom half with her first single to get on base. Lily Guerra hit a sacrifice bunt to third to move Hill into scoring position on the next play. Kelsey Uhl batted third and was walked to put runners on the first and second with just one out, but Haley Rose lined out to third and Maddie Herrera flew out to center and the game moved to another inning.

Again, Michigan-Dearborn was three up, three down in the top of the 11th. An error by the Wolverine defense put Alyssa Marshall on base with two outs, but a ground out to shortstop on the next play got ended the inning. Hill hit her second bunt single to lead off the bottom half of the 12th and then stole second base, but the Saints failed to capitalize on another scoring chance.

The Wolverines broke the tie in the top of the 13th-inning with a two-out rally that loaded the bases. A single right field allowed two runners to cross the plate and UM-Dearborn took a 2-0 lead. In the bottom half of the inning, Herrera led off with a huge double to left-center field and Kat Moreau hit a single to right to put runners on the corners for the Saints with no outs. Three consecutive flyouts kept the runners on base and ended the contest.
