ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights softball team dropped both games on the road against Concordia (Mich.) on Sunday afternoon to complete the regular season with a 16-12-1 overall record and a 7-7-1 mark in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play. HOW IT HAPPENED

The Saints failed to get the bats going in game one as the Cardinals held them scoreless through all five innings of regulation. CUAA registered innings with three runs, one run, and seven runs to complete the 11-0 run-rule win after the 5th-inning.

Game two was a closer affair as the Saints took a two-run lead before the Cardinals tallied three unanswered runs to take the game in the seventh. An RBI double gave Concordia the 1-0 in the 1st-inning. Lily Guerra drilled a home run in the lead-off spot of the 4th-inning to knot things up at one run apiece. Two batters later, Haley Rose followed suit and busted a two-run shot to give the Saints their first lead of the afternoon, 3-1.

Two runs crossed the plate for the home team in the bottom half of the fourth and the score was tied at three runs with just three innings of play remaining. A two-out walk-off single gave the Cardinals the comeback win.
