Nassr, Grant Win Mid-Distance Events for Men's T&F on Day Two of WHAC Indoors

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Siena Heights runners Abdullah Nassr and Cedric Grant won individual events as the Saints men's indoor track and field team finished competition on Saturday at the WHAC Championships.

Nassr, already a provisional qualifer in the 600-meter run, won that event with a provisional time of 1:22.50. Grant earned a new provisional with his winning time of 1:55.13 in the 800.

Noah Cunningham added a fifth-place finish for SHU in the 60-meter hurdles with a provisional time of 8.34 seconds. He already holds auto status in the event.

Jefferson Edwards was also named to the WHAC Champions of Character Team along with Siena Heights head coach Tim Bauer.

The Saints also had six honorees named to the Academic All-WHAC squad: Joel Koshko, Nethanel Leupold, Colin Metzger, Jay Moore, Jacob Sand and Timothy Werner.

Siena Heights will compete next at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will take place March 2-4 in Brookings, S.D.
