FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Siena Heights men's thrower Jefferson Edwards recorded a pair of Top 5 finishes during Friday's day-one action at the WHAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at Indiana Tech.
Edwards placed runner-up in the shot put and fourth in the weight throw. His shot put distance was 14.06 meters (46 feet, 1 1/2 inches). He threw the weight 15.23 meters (49-11 3/4).
Jordan Harris added a fifth-place finish in the weight throw at 14.54m (47-8 1/2).
Noah Cunningham ran NAIA provisional time in the 60-meter hurdles during prelims (8.26 seconds). He already holds an auto in the event and will compete again on Saturday in the finals when the WHAC Championships finish.
As a team, the Saints are fifth among eight teams after the first day. SHU has 25 points. Indiana Tech leads the way with 77.
