Jackson Double-Double Helps Lift Men's Basketball Over Mid-Atlantic Christian

ADRIAN, Mich. -- A double-double from Tony Jackson II helped the Siena Heights men's basketball team overpower Mid-Atlantic Christian (N.C.) in a 87-56 victory, on Friday.

The Saints jumped out to a quick 12-point lead to start the contest and held on, finishing the half with a 41-26 lead. Within the first seven minutes, Siena Heights went on a 19-3 run to double the Mustangs score, 62-29, with 13 minutes left in the game. SHU coasted to a victory in the final few minutes of action.

Jackson led the Saints with 16 points, 15 rebounds--13 of which were defensive-- and four assists, while going 6-of-8 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. Nick Randel tallied 13 points as Josh Winowiecki and Kevin Smith II each earned 12 points. For MACU, Grayson Tejeda had 14 total points. Adding 11 points was Markel Ming as Dixon Ogwo grabbed 11 boards and seven rebounds.

From the floor, SHU went 34-of-63 (54.0%) while hitting 6-of-19 (31.6%) from three-point land and 13-of-19 (68.4%) from the charity stripe. The Mustangs managed 21-of-69 (30.4%) shots from the floor, 4-of-22 (18.2%) three-pointers and 10-of-22 (45.5%) from the free throw line.

Siena Heights are now 3-3 overall while MACU falls to 3-6. Next up, the Saints will travel to Detroit Mercy for a 2 p.m. exhibition contest on Saturday.
