THE GAME

The Siena Heights football team will host No. 1 Marian (Ind.) in a Mid-States Football Association Mideast League game on November 12 for the Military Appreciation Game and Senior Night. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. for the Saints' 2016 season finale.

The Saints are coming off of a 13-16 loss to Trinity International (Ill.) last Saturday. SHU held the hosting Trojans to 49 offensive yards and no first downs in the first half of action. After TIU went up 13-5, the Saints would tie it up 13-13 with 1:15 remaining. The Trojans scored a field goal with 00:02 left on the clock to win it.

Marian (Ind.) is the top-ranked squad in the NAIA and the defending national champion after winning the title in 2015. The Knights are currently 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the MSFA. Oct 1, MU was held to only 35 points by then second-ranked Saint Francis (Ind.) in the 35-21 Knight victory. The 14-point game was the closest game so far this season.

THE COACHES
Matt Kohn (Indianapolis '05) had previously served as assistant head coach, defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach since the inception of the Siena Heights football program. In 2014, Kohn was named MSFA Mideast Assistant Coach of the Year after guiding the Saints' defense to their first conference championship.

Mark Henninger is in his fourth season at the helm of the Marian football program. He guided the Knights to two NAIA Championship appearances and one national title in 2015. Henninger was named the American Football Coaches' Association NAIA National Coach of the Year.
