Saints Falter On The Road Against Cleary

HOWELL, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team faced WHAC opponent Cleary in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. The Saints lost 6-1 in the first game and the second game was canceled due to cold temperatures. Deven Hill led SHU as he went 1 for 3 while earning the only RBI of the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Zach Bloom had the loss on the mound for SHU as he pitched four innings allowing six hits, four runs, and two walks while striking out three batters. K. Thompson had the win on the mound for the Cougars pitching nine innings allowing nine hits, one run, and two walks while striking out six batters. 

The Saints were scoreless through the 5th-inning. Cleary got on the board first in the 1st-inning as A. Lacle tripled and scored on a single by A. Dyke. The Cougars scored two runs in the 2nd-inning and 4th inning when K. Miazgowic doubled for an RBI scoring K. and G. Tompkins flew out to center field for a sacrifice fly RBI that scored K. Miazgowic. J. Fishbaum tripled scoring R. Kadoguchi and K. Miazgowic for 2 RBIs

Siena scored their only run in the 5th-inning as Matthew Love reached on base by a single and scored off of Deven Hill's sacrifice fly to right field. The Cleary scored one more run in the 5th-inning when K. Flaughter grounded out for an RBI that scored A. Dyke. The remainder of the game was scoreless as SHU had four hits while the Cougars had none but were not able to bring in any more runs earning Cleary the 6-1 win.

TOP SAINTS

Deven Hill earned SHU's only run of the game.

Adam Wilding was 2-for-4

Cameron Hammer and Thomas Lamnek respectively went 1-3 in the box.

THE OPPOSITION

• A. Dyke led the Cougars as he went 3-for-3 while earning a run and an RBI.

• J. Fishbaum was 1-4 with 2 RBIs.

• K. Miazgowic had two runs and one RBI while going 2-4.
