Saints Fall to Spring Arbor in Doubleheader

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team fell to Spring Arbor in a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Game 1: Spring Arbor 6, Siena Heights 0

The Saints were scoreless the entirety of the game. Parker Swartz started on the mound for SHU pitching five innings allowing seven hits and three runs. John Miller closed on the mound for Siena pitching two innings allowing four hits and three runs. Pavey earned the win on the mound for Spring Arbor as he pitched four innings and only allowing two hits. 

The Cougars scored two runs in the 1st-inning Mast flew out to rightfield for a SAC that scored Kraabel. Miller scored on a passed ball for the 2-0 lead. 

Spring Arbor earned one run in the 2nd-inning when Kitchen flew out to the center field for an RBI that scored Carroll. The Cougars' final runs came in the 6th-inning as Carrol scored on the throw. Kraabel tripled to center field earning an RBI as King scored. Miller singled to right field for an RBI that scored Kraabel.

Game 2: Spring Arbor 12, Siena Heights 1

Kenny Layman started on the mound for SHU pitching two innings allowing two hits and three runs as he had the loss. Lindstrom earned the win on the mound for Spring Arbor as he pitched two innings only allowing one hit and one run. 

The Cougars scored six runs combined between the 1st and 3rd innings off five hits and one error. The Saints scored their only run of the game in the 4th-inning as Adam Wilding reached on a base on a triple to right field and Jacob Jackson had a SAC fly to center field for an RBI scoring Wilding. 

Spring Arbor scored six more runs between the 6th and 7th innings off four hits and two errors to secure the 12-1 win. 

TOP SAINTS

• Adam Wilding went 4-6 and had a triple. 

Matthew Love went 3-5 on the night.
