THE GAMES
The Siena Heights baseball team is set for a solo Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest at Aquinas that was rescheduled from Mar. 31 and will now be played on Wednesday, April 4. Later this week, the Saints will host a non-conference double-header against Saint Francis (Ind.) on Thursday, before Lourdes comes to town for a WHAC series that will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
The Saints last contest was on Mar. 23 when they swept the triple-header over Michigan-Dearborn. SHU is 13-19 overall with a 6-7 WHAC record and have won six of their last seven. The Saints hold a team batting average of .286 an on base percentage of .359, slugging percentage of .361 and a team earned run average of 5.53.
Saint Francis (Ind.) is 8-19 overall and holds a team batting average of .241. The Cougars team on base percentage is .326 with a slugging percentage of .341. The SFU pitchers hold a team earned run average of 6.05.
Lourdes is 12-14 overall with a 4-10 WHAC record. The Saints took on the Gray Wolves back on Feb. 27 and took the victory with a score of 4-1. Lourdes has a team batting average of .320, an on base percentage of .410 and a slugging percentage of .462. The Gray Wolves have a team ERA of 5.98.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Siena Heights' Brenden Baker is the second leading batter with a batting average of .383. Brendan Green follows closely with a .314 batting average and leads the way with 23 RBI's. Baker also boasts a .513 slugging percentage and .403 on base percent and holds a team high, 44 hits and is second on the team with 10 extra base hits.
On the mound, Reid Olmstead leads the Saints with 52.2 innings pitched including nine starts. He has compiled an ERA of 2.91 and has a 4-3 overall record. Olmstead also leads SHU with 36 strike outs. Tristan Roth has pitched 45 innings total for Siena Heights and has an earned run average of 6.00. Roth's record is 2-4 while recording eight starts.
Tyler Prince leads Saint Francis (Ind.) with a batting average of .333 with a team high 28 hits and a slugging percentage of .464. Tanner Gaff and Keaton Sullivan are tied for a team leading, 17 RBI's. Dane Hoffman has pitched a team high 49 innings and has an ERA of 4.59. Kyle DeKonlnck has pitched 36 innings for the Cougars and has an ERA of 2.00.
Jay Denman leads Lourdes with a batting average of .402 in 87 at bats. Denman also has a team high slugging percentage of .690. Glen Crabtree currently holds a team leading 25 RBI's and a slugging percentage of .648. Zach Brown has pitched 42.1 innings for the Gray Wolves and has an ERA of 4.10. Matt York has pitched 41.2 innings and has a 4.75 earned run average.
