Baseball Set for WHAC Series at Aquinas

THE GAMES
The Siena Heights baseball team is set for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference series this week against Aquinas. The Saints will take on the AQ Saints in a single contest on Thursday, Mar. 29 beginning at 4 p.m. and a double-header on Saturday, Mar. 31 beginning at 1 p.m.

Last week the Saints swept the three game series against Michigan-Dearborn in WHAC action, giving them a 12-19 overall record and 5-7 conference record. Siena Heights holds a .283 team batting average, a .355 on base percentage and a team earned run average of 5.71.

Aquinas is 12-16 on the season and 4-8 in WHAC play. Last week, the Saints won it's series over Cornerstone, 2-1. AQ holds a team batting average of .307 and an on base percentage of .378. The Aquinas team earned run average stands at 6.49.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Freddy Jehle leads Siena Heights with a batting average of .444 and is followed by Brenden Baker with a batting average of .373. Jehle also leads the way with a slugging percetange of .656, with four stolen bases and in extra base hits with 16. Brendan Green is on top for the Saints with 21 RBI's but Baker is close behind with 20. 

Tristan Roth leads the Saints with 45 innings pitched and an ERA of 6.00. Reid Olmstead has pitched 43.2 innings for the Saints and holds an ERA of 3.30. Olmstead holds a 3-3 record while Roth is 2-4. Both pitchers have recorded 28 strike outs. 

Sterling Brinker holds the highest batting average for Aquinas with a .368. Nick Brzezinski leads the way with 17 RBI's. Max Ludka has pitched 41.1 innings for AQ and has a 2.83 ERA. Jordan Whar follows close behind in innings pitched with 40.2 and has an ERA of 4.20.

NEXT UP
The Siena Heights baseball team will be back in action on Tuesday, April 3, when they host Goshen (Ind.) in a non-conference double-header beginning at 4 pm.
