Liznyess' HOF plaque:
A three-time NAIA All-District pitcher, Shelly Lizyness had a
17-6 record with a 0.94 earned run average as a sophomore in
1990. She earned District #23 Player-of-the-Year honors that
season and was named the District’s top player once again in
1991 as a junior.
Lizyness had a 25-15 record in ’91 and pitched the Saints
to a district championship, a regional title and their first
appearance in the NAIA Softball World Series.
In her senior season, Lizyness set a single-season record for
wins (30) in the Saints’ 34-9 season in ‘82.
She owns virtually every Siena Heights softball career pitching
record including wins (77), strikeouts (358), earned run average
(1.43), complete games (105), batters faced (2113) and innings
pitched (742).
