Geibe Places Fifth, Earns All-America at NAIA Women's Wrestling Championships; Ahumada Goes 1-2

JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- Siena Heights' Bo Geibe placed fifth in the 170-pound weight class at the NAIA Championships to become the first women's wrestler in school history to earn NAIA All-America honors on Saturday.

Geibe finished with a 4-2 record at Nationals, ending her tournament with a win in the fifth-place match.

Geibe, seeded No. 7 at 170, opened bracket competition with a pinfall in 2:25 over Victoria Guinard of Hastings. In the quarterfinals, she lost to William Penn's Ashley Lekas, 10-0.

During consolation action on Saturday, Geibe rolled to a 15-2 win against Vanguard's Lily El-Masri, 15-2, and then oer Missouri Baptist's Faith Macharia, 14-4.

Geibe suffered her second loss to Kalila Shrive of Menlo, 9-6, and then ended Saturday with a pinfall against Cumberlands' Chamira Cooper.

Valeria Ahumada also competed for the Saints at 109, going 1-2. Ahumada defeated Rayana Sahagun of Jamestown (N.D.) in the Round of 32 before suffering back-to-back losses to Emma Baertlein (Southern Oregon) and Kylee Slyter (Baker).
