SYLVANIA, Ohio -- Mallory Chunat and Phoenix Waters earned two wins each on the mat during the Siena Heights women's wrestling team's tri-match at Lourdes on Friday. The Saints faced a pair of Mid-South opponents, defeating Lourdes, 27-16, but falling to the University of the Cumberlands, 30-18.
Chunat won her two matches in the 130-pound class. She pinned Cumberlands' Olivia Hogan in 1:06 and took a 10-0 technical fall against Lourdes' Brielle Newland.
Waters was successful at 136 with a pin in 2:08 over Cumberlands' Madison Dow and a decision win against LU's Julia Padilla.
Other winners for the SHU women were Maggie Mann and Bo Geibe at 143 and 170, respectively. Both wins came against Cumberlands. Mann pinned Sydney Dizon in 4:54 and Geibe grabbed a 4-0 decision against Chamira Cooper.
