ADRIAN, Mich. - Freshman Bo Geibe continued her impressive start to the season and was one of three Saints to place Sunday at the Adrian Invite.

The Saints finished in 8th place overall in the 21-team tournament field.

Geibe finished 3-1 on the day and earned fifth place at 170 pounds. Her lone loss of the day was a 7-5 loss to University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's Jade Herzer. Herzer is a returning all-American and the only wrestler to defeat Geibe this season.

Wins for Geibe included a tech fall against Daijah Norris of Indiana Tech, a medical forfeit against Cara Broadus of Sacred Heart and a tech fall over Quilaztli Miguel-Lapham of Adrian.

Jaelynn Trantanella earned her first tournament placement of her career with her sixth-place finish Sunday.

Trantanella went 2-2 on the day at 143 pounds, earning victories against Davenport's Emily Vargas and Trine's Charissa Fauber. She lost matches to Nyla Burgess of Adrian and Noelle Gaffney of Northern Michigan.

Mia Delgado placed in her second consecutive tournament when she finished 7th at 191 pounds. Delgado dropped her first match 8-0 to Alondra Aguayo of North Central, lost by fall in 4:52 against Emory & Henry's Brittney Reed and pinned Wisconsin Stevens Point's Hailie Lattery and finished her day with another pin against Adrian's Sienna Lejeune.

Mallory Chunat also turned a gritty performance for the Saints. Although she didn't place, Chunat went 3-1. Her opening round match was a loss Yele Aycock of North Central, who was the eventual champion at 136 pounds.

Chunat then had pins over Chloe Eggert of Rochester University and another over Sydney Lewis of Indiana Tech, before finishing with a tech fall against Hannah Arledge-Teran of Albion.

"Wrestling and weighing-in on back-to-back days is tough in and of itself – and then to add the level of competition we did today – was a challenge for our team," said Head Coach Dominic Adams. "Each wrestler stepped up to the task and we were able to get a little bit better today as a team and as individuals. We had wrestlers earn their first collegiate victories, place in their first college tournaments, and we did it together as a family."
