ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team won its WHAC Tournament quarterfinal over Northwestern Ohio, 3-0, on Wednesday at the SHU Fieldhouse. Set scores were 25-18, 25-16, 25-14.
Devyne Eisenhauer had 13 kills and 14 digs to lead the Saints. Emalee Maesch added 12 kills and 12 digs while Kei Sullivan put down 11 kills.
Also for SHU (23-5), Aubrey Bates made 38 assists. Jessica Holsapple had two aces and 10 digs. Melina Hanes added 11 digs while Olivia Norman totaled three blocks.
The Saints broke a 16-all tie in the opening set with seven straight points. Eisenhauer had three kills while Maesch made one kill and two aces in that stretch.
SHU built an 8-3 start in the second set and eventually closed with a 5-0 run.
In the third, the Saints led 5-4 before pulling away with a 10-1 run.
Siena Heights will take on Indiana Tech in the WHAC Tournament quarterfinals on Friday at host Aquinas. If Aquinas advances to the WHAC finals in Friday's earlier semifinal, the SHU/Tech matchup will be for the WHAC's second automatic bid to Nationals; Aquinas already earned the first via WHAC regular-season championship.
