Women's Volleyball Wins in Three at UNOH

LIMA, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team secured a 3-0 sweep over Northwestern Ohio in WHAC competition on Wednesday night. Set scores were 25-22, 25-20, 25-15.

Aubrey Bates finished with 35 assists, 12 digs and one ace; the ace ended the match.

In the kills department, Devyne Eisenhauer led the way with nine while Kei Sullivan added eight, Jessica Holsapple put down seven and Olivia Norman totaled six.

Eisenhauer also had 17 digs while Holsapple came through with 10. Emalee Maesch added 12.

Holsapple also had four aces. Sullivan and Norman were in on four blocks apiece.

SHU won an up-and-down first set after taking a 10-2 lead before falling behind 22-19. The Saints finished the first on a 6-0 streak. Sullivan had two kills and a block while Bates compiled one kill and three assists in that stretch.

Siena Heights finished the second set with a 7-2 run after the teams knotted themselves at 18-all. Holsapple and Kate Noe had two kills each in that final stretch while Norman and Kate Buckley made two blocks each.

With the Saints up 16-14 during the third, Bates led them through the final 9-1 run. She had two assists, one kill and one block before her last serve ended the match.

SHU (11-4, 6-2) will return to action on Friday with a non-conference contest against cross-town rival Adrian. That match is slated for 6:30 p.m. at the SHU Fieldhouse.
