ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights women's volleyball team finished regular season play at home in the SHU Fieldhouse Saturday, November 5th. The Saints hosted the Indiana Tech University Warriors in the Final Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Matchup. SHU defeated the Warriors in a five-set battle 3-2.

Taylor Wegener led Sine boasting 20 kills, two digs, and two blocks. Olivia Norman put down 14 kills along with four blocks and six digs. Devyne Eisenhauer tallied 11 kills as well as 23 digs, two aces, and one block. Claire VanDyke picked up 18 digs while Libero Payton Osborne collected 28 digs, five assists, and two aces. Setter Aubrey Bates earned 51 assists on top of 23 digs, six kills, and one service ace.

The five-set slugger began with back-to-back SHU wins as the home team put down the Warriors with an overpowering offense. The third set saw a major dip in hitting percentage for Siena only averaging .096, this led to the Saints dropping the set. Set four contained dynamic plays and big rallies from both sides. The set went into extra points ending 25-27 in favor of the visiting team. The fifth and final set of the match held similar play as both teams' defenses made magnificent plays. Siena Heights would close out the set with three major points, first from Norman who put down a ball in a deep corner. Followed by back-to-back kills from Eisenhauer ending the match 3-2 and the set 17-15.

COACHES QUOTE

"That was the most number of conference wins in program history, highest winning percentage in the WHAC ever, tied for the highest finish in program history, first-ever win over Indian Tech on the road as well as the first time to sweep the Warriors in a season, first time to ever beat Madonna, first time ever sweeping Madonna. Lots of firsts this season. That was a knockdown drag-out, playoff-type match. That was awesome. I thought both teams played very well and I would just come down to who wanted it more. The play we made to finish the match was perfect, all three contacts were exemplary."
