Siena Heights senior goalkeeper Kara Bishop was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's soccer defensive player of the week for the second consecutive week by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Bishop made seven saves to preserve her ninth shutout of the season against Cornerstone. She followed that up with five more saves against Concordia (Mich.) for her 10th shutout win of the year--which ties for eighth all-time for shutouts in a season. It also puts her career total to 20 shutouts, which is sixth all-time in the career charts.
She is the first Siena Heights student-athlete to win back-to-back weekly awards this year. This award is her third WHAC women's soccer defensive player of the week honor and the fifth such award for the SHU women's soccer program for this season.
Bishop looks to continue her stellar play between the posts for the Saints with a home game against Aquinas on Wednesday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m.
