
15 members of the Siena Heights women's soccer team earned 2020 postseason honors by the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) as announced by the league office on Saturday, April 3rd.
Senior Kaleigh Mahaz earned All-WHAC Second Team and WHAC All-Academic. Mahaz played in all 11 games for the Saints on the season. She was tabbed WHAC defensive player of the week on March 22nd as she helped lead the Saints to two wins on the week against Rochester (4-0) and Indiana Tech (2-0) and she was an integral part of the defense. The Saints defense did not allow many shots in the last two games. They held Rochester to only one shot the entirety of the game that went wide. In the game against Indiana Tech, the 11 shot they did allow many were not on the net.
Sophomore Marissa Young tabbed All-WHAC Second Team. Young started in 10 games on the season for SHU. She leads the team in goals (4), assists (2), points (10), shots (31), shots on goal (19), and recorded one game-winning goal. She was named WHAC offensive player of the week on March 22nd as she tallied nine shots on goal and two goals on the week as they won against Rochester (4-0) and Indiana Tech (2-0). She had a goal in each of those games.
Freshman MacKenzie Stenzel, Emily Broman, and Allison Balasico were named to the WHAC All-Newcomer Team. Stenzel played in nine games and started in two on the season. She recorded one assist, one point, three shots, and one shot on goal. Broman played in 11 games and started in five for Siena. She earned one assist, one point, ten shots, and five shots on goal. Balasico played in 11 games and started in eight for SHU.
Senior Kara Bishop was the team's Champions of Character Team representative and was named to the WHAC All-Academic Team. Bishop played in 11 games and started in 10 between the pipes for the Saints. She recorded 962:18 minutes of play, 49 saves, a save percentage of .803, three shutouts, and a 5-5 record on the season.
Senior Haylie Curtiss earned WHAC All-Academic. Curtiss played in 11 games and started in two on the season. She tallied three shots and two shots on goal. Senior Mia Dronchi won WHAC All-Academic. Dronchi appeared in six games while earning two shots and one shot on goal. Junior Isabel Herden received WHAC All-Academic. Herden played in in six games and started in five while tallying one assist, one point, five shots, and two shots on goal. Junior Kiley Kaczmarek was put on the WHAC All-Academic team. Kaczmarek appeared in 11 games and started in seven as she had one shot. Senior Macy Llewellyn tabbed WHAC All-Academic. Llewellyn appeared in 11 games, started in eight, had one goal, one assist, three points, five shots, and four shots on goal. Senior Jennifer Richmond won WHAC All-Academic. Richmond played in 11 games, started in five, and had one assist. She was the second-highest on the team in goals (3), points (7), shots (15), and shots on goal (8). Senior Alexa Scroggie was put on the WHAC All-Academic team. Scroggie played in one game in the season and graduated in December. Junior Lauren Southworth earned WHAC All-Academic. Southworth played in eight games and started in six while recording four shots and one shot on goal. Senior Ashley Strong received WHAC All-Academic. Strong appeared in five games and started in four. She had one assist, one point, four shots, and two shots on goal as she graduated in December.
