The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference announced the 2019 women's soccer awards on Wednesday, November 6th. 15 Saints were honored with an award this season.
Julia Stancato (Senior, South Lyon, Mich.) took home two honors on the season. She was honored as WHAC First Team All-Conference and WHAC All-Academic. Stancato started in all 18 games for the Saints as she scored five goals, had two assists, tallied 12 points, recorded 21 shots on goal throughout the season all of which was a team-high and had 37 shots which were second on the team. Stancato is 20th in the WHAC with averaging 1.17 for shots on goal per game. These are Stancato's second WHAC end of the season honors of her career.
Elizabeth Furgason (Freshman, Haslett, Mich.) earned WHAC Second Team All-Conference. Furgason started in 12 games for the Saints as she scored three goals, had two assists, tallied eight points, led the team with 44 shots on the season placing her 14th in the WHAC, led the team with 21 shots on goal placing her 16th in the WHAC as she averaged 1.31 per game, and placed 8th in the WHAC with 2 game-winning goals.
Macy Llewellyn (Junior, La Porte, Ind.) was honored with two honors. She earned WHAC Second Team All-Conference and WHAC All-Academic. Llewellyn started in all 18 games for the Saints as she scored one goal and ended the season with two points, 31 shots, and 16 shots on goal. These are Llewellyn's first WHAC end of the season honors of her career.
Marissa Young (Freshman, Genoa, Ohio) took home WHAC All-Newcomer Team as a forward. Young started in 13 games for the Saints as she scored a second team-high of three goals, had one assist, recorded seven points, tallied 29 shots, and had 15 shots on goal to end the season.
Hannah Moening (Freshman, Ann Arbor, Mich.) earned WHAC All-Newcomer Team as a defender. Moening started in 10 games for the Saints as she tallied four shots and tallied one shot on goal.
Kara Bishop (Junior, Allegan, Mich.) earned Champions of Character and WHAC All-Academic. Haylie Curtiss (Junior, Allegan, Mich.), Mia Dronchi (Junior, West Bloomfield, Mich.), Kathryn Gordon (Senior, Canton, Mich.), Kaleigh Mahaz (Junior, Canton, Mich.), Madeline Reau (Senior, Temperance, Mich.), Jennifer Richmond (Junior, Canton, Mich.), Magali Romero (Senior, Asuncion, Paraguay), Alexa Scroggie (Junior, New Boston, Mich.), and Ashley Strong (Junior, Howell, Mich.) all earned WHAC All-Academic honors.
The Siena Heights women's soccer team will host Madonna tonight at 7:00 p.m. for the quarterfinal round in the WHAC Tournament.
