#3 UNOH Sinks Women's Soccer in WHAC Matchup

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team earned a tough 4-0 loss to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent UNOH, on Saturday afternoon. Sophia Lentz (L, 6-4) made six saves between the pipes for the Saints.

Records: UNOH (12-1-0, 7-0 WHAC), Siena Heights (9-4-1, 5-2 WHAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Racers came out dominating offensively as they put up 16 shots compared to the Saints' five. UNOH opened the scoring as Kate Agyemang netted the ball off a shot from the right post in the 14th minute. The half remained a deadlock for 24 minutes until the Racers kept the momentum going and Julie Cazanave score off a free kick from 20 yards out. SHU was unable to capitilize on their chances and UNOH headed to the locker room with the 2-0 lead.

Both teams battled for possession the first 15 minutes of the second half. The Saints picked up momentum on possession as they had a few key scoring opportunities but were unable to connect the ball on net. The Racers dominated in possession as they put up ten shots compared to SHU's fourAyemang scored her second goal as she took a shot five yeards out and placed the ball in the top left corner in the 60th minute. UNOH earned a penalty kick after Kiley Kaczmarek (Sophomore, Bay City, Mich.) fouled in the box. The penalty kick was taken by Agyemang but the shot went high and the Saints earned a break. The Racers final goal was scored by Olga Massombo as she drove in through centerfield and beat a mob of SHU defenders to put the ball in net. The final push for the Saints came up short and UNOH earned the win.

Macy Llewellyn (Junior, La Porte, Ind.) tallied two shots on goal.

• Isabel Remar (Freshman, Lowell, Mich.) earned two shots on goal.

• Julia Stancato (Senior, South Lyon, Mich.), Marissa Young (Freshman, Genoa, Ohio), and Elizabeth Furgason (Freshman, Haslett, Mich.) each recorded a shot on goal.

THE OPPOSITION

• Agyemang tallied two goals.

• Cazanave and Massombo each earned a goal.

• Lisa Venrath (W, 11-1) made seven saves in the winning effort for the Racers.
