HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bulldogs wasted no time as they capatalized on a chance to put themselves on the board first when Mia Oleksiak scored with a header off a cornerkick from Caroline Fleming in the eighth minute of play.  The Saints answered back as Remar (Freshman, Lowell, Mich.) scored off an assist from Marissa Young (Freshman, Genoa, Ohio) and Ashley Strong (Junior, Howell, Mich.) as Young's pass from Strong made it through the box and Remar beat the goalkeeper in the 10th minute.  Adrian had two other scoring opportunities in the 10th and 28th minute of the first half, but the score would remained tied at the intermission. Adrian barely edged Siena four shots to three as well as three cornerkicks to zero at the end of the period.

The Bulldogs started the second half with a goal from Caroline Fleming on a cross to the far post from Megan Louwers as the ball would barley sneak past Lentz to put themselves in the lead in the 51th minute of play. The Saints had a scoring opportuinity in the 64th minute as Kathryn Gordon (Senior, Canton, Mich.) had a shot just outside the box but it flew wide. A minute later, Gordon passed the ball in front of goal to Elizabeth Furgason (Freshman, Haslett, Mich.) but was blocked by a Bulldog defender. Remar would have a breakaway and a shot just outside the box but it came up short and was saved by Adrian goalie Kristen Page (W,1-0) in the 73rd minute of play. Young put the basll on the net after a breakaway pass but the shot was saved by Page as she tipped it over the crossbar in the 80th minute. Adrian would have two other scoring opportunities at the 48th and 85th minute of play but were unable to piece something together.
