The Siena Heights women's soccer team is set to host Indiana Tech in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinal, set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
SHU enters post-season play with a 9-6-2 overall record and a 6-2-2 conference slate to earn the third-seed in the tournament. The two losses come from No. 4 Northwestern Ohio and Concordia, falling 2-0 and 2-1, respectively. The Warriors finished the regular season 7-8-2 with a 4-4-2 WHAC finish.
Last time the Saints and Warriors met, Siena Heights won 3-2 in overtime. It was a game of penalty kicks as three were awarded throughout the match. IN Tech goals came from Tori Singstock as she netted a shot from 25 yards out and converted a penalty kick. Three different Saints scored as Taylor Mulder converted a penalty kick, Samantha Bartelotti had a quick turn and goal inside the box and Emily Burkman finished a penalty kick in the 94th-minute to win it for SHU. Meghan Bogg had five saves in 70 minutes of action before Taylor Hill relieved her, stopping one shot in 23 minutes of play.
Price for admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors--parent passes will not be accepted for WHAC Tournament admission. Siena Heights students, staff and faculty will be allowed into the facility for free with proper identification.
