Siena Heights women's soccer center defender Emily Burkman was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in the 3-0 victory over Aquinas and 6-0 win against Michigan-Dearborn, as announced on Monday.
Burkman helped SHU hold their opponents to four shots total on the week, only two on frame. Siena Heights outshot Aquinas 31-1, Burkman earning the final tally of the night as she finished a cross from a corner kick for SHU.
