Women's Soccer Rebounds with 3-0 Victory Over Aquinas

ADRIAN, Mich. – In a battle of the Saints, the Siena Heights women's soccer team defeated Aquinas 3-0 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action, on Wednesday.

Siena Heights (5-5-1, 2-1-1 WHAC) opened the scoring in the 13th-minute as Jennifer Richmond sent a pass to Samantha Bartelotti, who tipped the ball to Paige Rachut, finishing her shot from six yards out.

In the second half, SHU finished twice within two minutes as Taylor Mulder finished a quick pass from Kathryn Gordon and again as Emily Burkman headed in a corner kick from Mulder.

Leading SHU in shots was Erin Scheidel and Bartelotti with five shots each, while Alexis Gainer, Julia Stancato and Mulder each managed four shots. Taking the lone shot for AQ was Khrystal Lewis.

Winning goalkeeper Meghan Bogg made one save for SHU. Aquinas (4-5-1, 1-2-0 WHAC) goalkeeper Kylie Robb stopped seven shots.

Siena Heights outshot Aquinas 31-1 while holding a 10-1 corner kick advantage over Aquinas.

SHU will return to action on Saturday, as the Saints head to Michigan-Dearborn for a 12 p.m. WHAC contest.
