Eastman Scores the Game-Winner For #16 Women's Soccer Against Marian

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Danielle Eastman scored the game-winner for the Siena Heights women's soccer team in teh 2-1 victory over non-conference opponent Marian (Ind.), on Tuesday.

The Knights took control of the game in the first half, scoring in the 27th minute when Olivia Anne headed the ball into the back of the net. MU outshot the Saints 9-3 on the first half.

Siena Heights fought back in the second half, scoring just over a minute into the second half. At 46:05 into the match, Erin Scheidel passed the ball to Taylor Mulder who beat the goalkeeper on a breakaway to even the score.

In the 69th minute, Emily Burkman took a shot from half-field that bounced inside the 18 yard box and hit the crossbar. Eastman followed the shot and finished the game-winner for the Saints.

Meghan Boog started in net for the Saints, making one save and allowing one goal. Goalkeeper Sophia Lentz relieved her at halftime to earn the win for SHU, making no saves. Melissa Sturgill stopped three shots for the Knights.

Overall, Siena Heights outshot the Knights, 18-13, out shooting MU 15-4 in the second half. Marian held a 6-3 corner-kick advantage.

SHU will travel to Saint Francis (Ind.) for their final non-conference contest before conference play starts. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
