In the first release of the NAIA Women's Soccer Top 25 poll since preseason, the Siena Heights women's soccer team was ranked 25th in the NAIA -- the Saints' first appearance in the Top 25 since their No. 24 end-of-season ranking in 2011.
The Saints received 135 points and jumped from being unrated to the Top 25, leapfrogging the "receiving votes" category in the process.
SHU has won 7 of 8 to open its 2014 campaign -- highlighted by wins over 16th-ranked Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and receiving-votes Trinity Christian (Ill.). The Saints have outscored opponents, 26-4, while recording five shutouts.
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference boasts two other teams in the Top 25: Davenport (eighth) and Northwestern Ohio (11th).
Concordia (Ore.) of the Cascades Collegiate Conference is rated No. 1 in the NAIA.
