
ADRIAN, Mich. -- Mikayla Ferer scored the lone Siena Heights goal, but a late Cornerstone tally forged a 1-1 tie in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Saturday at O'Laughlin Stadium.
Ferer followed up on a rebound off Madison Phillips' initial shot, putting the Saints ahead 1-0 in the 69th minute.
SHU (8-7-3, 4-3-2) was 2:17 from clinching a first-round home match in the WHAC Tournament when Cornerstone's Rachel Wood blasted the equalizer from 35 yards out, forging the 1-1 tie that held as the final score.
Crystal Wilcoxen played all 110 minutes in net for Siena Heights, finishing with two saves. Hayley Mohr stopped four shots for the Golden Eagles (9-6-2, 4-3-2).
Siena Heights and Cornerstone tied for fifth in the WHAC standings and will await word on their first-round WHAC Tournament opponents. Both squads will play road games.
