LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer season came to an end on Wednesday as the fifth-seed Saints were eliminated by four-seed Madonna in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal.
The Crusaders (10-8-1) pushed across three second-half goals to claim the victory. Kelly Capoccia tallied in the 53rd and 57th minutes and then Morgan Himanek tacked on a score during the 72nd.
SHU (8-8-3) outshot its hosts, 7-4, and held Madonna without a shot during the first half.
Siena Heights goalkeeper Crystal Wilcoxen played over 80 minutes in net before she was relieved by Ashley Elliott. Neither goalie made a save.
For Madonna, goalie Blaire Schmalenberg had five stops -- all coming in the second half.
