
ADRIAN, Mich. -- Alexis Donnelly and Mikayla Ferer teamed up for three goals to lead the Siena Heights women's soccer team to a 4-2 non-conference victory over Saint Xavier (Ill.) on Saturday at O'Laughlin Stadium.
Donnelly had two goals -- both assisted by Ferer -- while Ferer found the net once with an assist from Donnelly. Paige Frey also scored the Saints (2-4) via the penalty kick.
Lexi Cozzi opened the scoring for SXu in the 22nd minute with an assist from Mariana Hoerr.
SHU then scored four consecutive goals, starting with a Donnelly goal from Ferer in the 37th minute.
After halftime, Donnelly broke the 1-1 tie during the 63rd minute with help from Ferer.
Ferer scored her goal in the 67th minute before Frey connected on her PK during the 68th -- exactly 1:27 after Ferer's tally.
Cozzi finished out the scoring with a goal in the 69th minute for the Cougars.
Siena Heights goalkeeper Crystal Wilcoxen finished with four saves to earn the win.
Alex Perry stopped 10 shots in goal for Saint Xavier.
The Saints will return to action on Tueday with a non-conference match at Bethel (Ind.).
