ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team dropped its season opener to Trinity International (Ill.), 2-1, in non-conference action on Tuesday at O'Laughlin Stadium.
Carlee Pallett scored the Saints' lone goal via penalty kick after she was fouled in the 18-yard box. The tally pulled Siena Heights even after the visitors struck first with a Samantha Yasatan goal in the 26th minute.
Pallett struck back in the 27th -- exactly 1:44 after Yasatan's score.
Marta Sobey then pushed in a header for Trinity in the 34th minute, getting an assist from Yasatan for the game's final goal.
Liz Burzynski was the winning goalkeeper for Trinity International, finishing with four saves. SHU goalie Crystal Wilcoxen also made four stops.
The Saints will return to action this weekend with a pair of games at the Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) Invitational. They are set to meet Grace (Ind.) on Friday at 4 p.m. and then Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) on Saturday at 4.
