ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team had its comeback bid fall short against seventh-ranked Indiana Tech, ultimately falling 12-9 in WHAC competition Thursday at O'Laughlin Stadium.

Jenna Allie led SHU (5-6, 2-2) with three goals and three assists while Megan Gibbs tallied three goals and one assist.

Gibbs also had five groundballs and five draw controls while Allie finished with four DCs.

Danielle Turner scored two goals, Maitland Fuentes had one goal and three draw controls, and Abbey Scott made an assist.

In the cage, Brooke Burchfield stopped 13 shots.

The visiting Warriors (9-2, 6-0) scored the first seven goals before SHU finally got on the board on a Turner goal with 6:06 remaining in the second quarter.

The Saint goal began a 6-0 stretch -- three by Gibbs, two by Turner and one by Allie -- as the Saints closed to a 7-6 deficit.

SHU was unable to tie the contest after that, pulling within 8-7 later, but again falling just short of knotting up the score.
