
ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team dropped a 10-8 contest at cross-town rival Adrian on Saturday night.
Megan Gibbs had three goals and one assist to lead the Saints (4-5). She also had three groundballs and two draw controls.
Danielle Turner had a strong all-around game with two goals, five GBs, three DCs and four caused turnovers.
Abbey Scott added two goals. Avery Parks also scored.
Grace Holland compiled two assists, four GBs and two draw controls.
Goalie Brooke Burchfield finished with five saves.
Adrian won the contest with a pair of goals in the final 1:47. SHU had pulled into an 8-8 tie with 5:19 left.
SHU's only lead was a 4-3 advantage through the first quarter. Gibbs had two goals as the Saints went on a 3-1 run.
Adrian answered with three consecutive goals to start the second quarter and led until the Saints pulled even at 8-8 on goals by Gibbs and Turner 38 seconds apart.
That set the stage for the Bulldogs' final two goals with 1:47 and 1:00 left.
SHU will play next when it visits WHAC opponent Madonna for 12 p.m. draw on Saturday, Mar. 29.
The Saints' originally scheduled game for Wednesday, Mar. 26, against Aquinas will be recorded as a forfeit win for SHU.
