Brandon Allwood Named Siena Heights Women's Lacrosse Coach

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Siena Heights athletic director Sue Syljebeck has announced the hire of Brandon Allwood as head coach of the Saints' women's lacrosse program. Allwood comes to SHU after an eight-year run as head coach for NCAA Division III program Hanover.

"It was important for us to find someone who could continue and build on the success of the women's lacrosse program," Syljebeck said. "Our new coach has head-coaching experience, as well as Michigan ties. He had numerous all-conference players as well as three conference MVPs. While accomplishing this on the field, he has a strong commitment to his player's academics.

"Brandon's ability to create strong relationships with his student-athletes -- and his desire to help them be successful people after graduation -- is what set him apart from the field."

Allwood is a native of New Buffalo, Mich., and a graduate of Albion, where he played D-III lacrosse before graduating in 2013.

While at Hanover, he compiled a 52-58 overall record with a 29-16 slate in conference play. His Panther teams reached Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship games in 2019, 2021 and 2022.

"It's an honor being back in Michigan and being close to friends and family who got me started, and got me to fall in love with the sport," Allwood said. "Getting here and learning more about how the Dominican sisters view life and how they view people was a very attractive quality to me."
